Rise of the Fat Mogul

Rise of the Fat Mogul - kindleHold on a second, I’ve got to hit F5 on a different tab real quick.

Sorry about that.  Oh, wait…hold on.

K, I’m back.

Wait…

Okay, for real this time.

Sheesh…I might be exaggerating a bit here, but that’s honestly what a release day feels like to me in a lot of regards.  Can’t possibly miss seeing when the next sale comes through.  Oooh, someone hit like on Facebook, maybe there’s a new sale!

It’s silly, obviously.

Oh yeah, I was supposed to talk about my book release!

Actually, it’s pretty exciting.  Today marks the release of my fourth published book.  Number 4!  Not only that, but it’s the release of my first sequel.  It’s almost as though I’ve finally reached a point where there’s no stopping me…except for when I need to head off to hit F5.  Speaking of which…

I’ve gotta say though, I’m so flippin’ proud of this book.  If you, in any way, enjoyed The Legend of Buddy Hero, Rise of the Fat Mogul should be on your Kindle or other reading device (or being shipped to your house, if you’re paperback-preferred) right now.  It’s like I learned how to write somewhere in between.  It’s got everything the first book has, but so much more.  And you’ll figure out a lot of those pesky things that you might want to know about because of your reading the first one.

Seriously, I’m proud of this book.

And look at that cover.  It’s bloody brilliant.  Amanda Obenhoffer will win awards for covers some day.  That’s what I’ve decided.  I may have to develop an award for it, but it’s going to happen.

But…you all really know all this stuff already, don’t you? I mean, you come to this blog on a regular basis.

Perhaps I should just take a step back for a moment.  Perhaps it’s time to really just sit back, relax, and revel in the moment that is the book release.  Like some sort of heavy boulder being dragged along behind me, I’ve finally tossed this one off (you know, outside of the never ending game of trying to convince people to read it).  It’s out there, it’s complete.  And, most importantly, I’m mighty happy with it.

And, on top of all that, it’s my fourth published book.  Sure, it took me a lot longer than hoped to get it out there, but it’s there.

And I have no intentions of stopping now.  I’ve got the first draft of The Agora Files Part 2 moving along quickly (although it won’t get done quite as fast as I had initially hoped either…this writing thing takes forever).  I’ve got The Long Chron waiting in the wings to get through the final edit process.  And I’ve got a whole host of books prepping to get started.

Not to mention my collaboration with my daughter, which she really wants to have done before Christmas.

Writing has become something of a full-time gig for this guy…which somehow fits on top of my actual full-time gig…

All the same, it’s great seeing the pile of books listed next to my name on Amazon grow larger.  And I intend to keep it growing larger.  So, this post is mostly a big ol’ pat on the back to myself, because normally I sit in this desk and write and cry about how I’m never going to be able to do anything with all these damned books I want to write because I’m too busy trying to do things with the books I’ve written.

Screw that.  I’m a writer and I’m proud.  And you should read my books.  Or at least one of them.  Daddy of the Dead‘s a cheap option.  And The Legend of Buddy Hero is on sale right now.

Oh…and look to the right, there’s a giveaway going on right now to win a paperback copy of Rise of the Fat Mogul (or just click this link).  You just have to one-click (assuming you’re a goodreads user) to enter.  Do it!

So…yeah…I’m taking it easy today (other than the 5,000 words I intend to write for Agora 2) and reveling in the fact that I have, yet again, done something I had though was impossible just a few years back.

I hope this moment of self-indulgence doesn’t cause you too much pain.

Have fun out there!
