Although this morning started out a little rough, and, honestly, I’m still counting down the hours until it’s time to punch out, I’m finding myself a little less combatative today than is sometimes the usual. In fact…I can’t think of a single thing to battle.
So, I have declared today a vacation from battling, a day of peace within the Fat Mogul realm.
You see, although there are some things that just aren’t what I’d like them to be in my life, well, really…one thing… I’m really happy with life. And the fact that today is Friday, and the first Friday in a while where life is actually back to normal, meaning I can just relax with my family and enjoy some happy time together, well, that alone makes for a smiley mogul.
Add into that the fact that I’ve carved out a wonderful chunk of time for daily writing once again and, well, yeah. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love the Christmas season, but I don’t think I wrote more than a couple words during all of December. No wonder I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately…my brain is just too full of things I want to put on the page.
And believe me when I say that I’m super excited about what is getting on the page already. The bliss of new projects (even if they were started over a month ago) is one that makes a smile appear and find trouble disappearing…until, of course, that first block hits. Luckily I’ve got three new stories I’m working on at the same time, while also beginning the editing process on another book. That means I shouldn’t have any want for creative work to do.
Oh, and did I mention that I’m doing a little show at the Children’s Theatre this month as well? The tickets are listed at $999 on that link, but I’m fairly certain it’s much less than that, should you want to see me put on a little bit of a show.
Family and creative times, they have the habit of overwhelming the nasty feelings that can come from the stressors of my job, and that’s a happy thing.
So…nothing to battle, but that doesn’t mean I’m done battling. Just taking a reprieve today to bask in the warmth that is the end of the holiday season. Even if that warmth is joined by sub-zero temperatures that are accompanied with Wind Chill Warnings…just means more cuddling with my wife and kids under a tightly wrapped blanket.
Have fun out there!
