So, I know I’m getting ahead of myself, but I believe I can officially announce the future completion of my book. 🙂
Tomorrow’s the day, barring any sort of unforeseen circumstances. I’m in the midst of the final touches as we speak, but completion can’t be confirmed until tomorrow, as I’m down to the last half hour of writing for the day before heading off to a birthday party. But, tomorrow? That’s right. I’m at 77,000 words, and believe I have up to another 5,000 words until the sucker is totally complete, but at the pace I’ve been hitting things this week, I don’t see that being a problem. In fact, I’ll be getting through another 1000 today yet, I’m fairly certain.
I just had to take a break for a minute because I finally completed the final real action sequence of the book and just have the aftermath to deal with, which will, of course, be quite exciting. At least that’s how I feel about it.
Anyways, I really don’t have much to say, I just don’t want to risk freezing my house by opening my windows and screaming my excitement about the end nearing.
The action sequence ended up being a bit shorter than I had thought it would be, but I finally got to the point where it was impossible to move forward. However, the reasons it ends are way better than I had expected. It actually wraps up several smaller plot lines quite nicely. And the rest, well, it might be a little on the slow side, but should move things forward for a sequel pretty well, which is great because at the start of this, I really had no plans for this being anything more than a single novel. Now that I’ve created the world, I realize that there’s a whole bunch of story left to tell past this novel.
And that excites me. I’m really darn excited to get this novel into the rewrite phase. It’s going to be a painful one, I’m sure, but I want to see if it turned out anywhere near as amazing as it is in my head.
Here’s hoping that within the next week+ I will have a good run on the second draft going and be able to make some real announcements about my thoughts on the book.
Have a good one.
