The book is complete as far as I’m concerned. My graphic designer, who hasn’t actually done any design work so far, is planning on doing something with my cover this week, but I’m not too strong on assuming that anything will actually come of that as he’s been rather distracted lately, and will definitely be distracted when he comes to town tomorrow. So, the book’s as good as I’m going to be able to get it with my current abilities.
Which means I’m working on sending out ARCs as we speak. The amount of people I’ve currently got lined up to receive them is rather small, so I’m back to an act which feels all too familiar. . . sending queries to people for them to decide whether or not they would like to review this thing I’ve been working on for the past year. Once again I feel as crappy as I did when sending out queries to agents, but, hopeful as well. Not that it really matters if any of them actually do decide to review it, as I’ve already come to the conclusion that I shouldn’t expect much for sales out of this little self-published piece of beauty. But it would be nice if it got out there a little, seeing as I’ve put so much effort into it, and intend on trying to complete the narrative through the rest of the series.
Anyways, here I am, once again, waiting to hear back from people I may never hear back from, hoping that they will give me some glimmer of hope that they will at least place something about the book, good or bad, somewhere on their website or newsletter, or other. Fingers are crossed.
